First year B.Tech Department plays a vital role in overall development of students towards Engineering Courses. Engineering is an art and profession of acquiring and applying scientific, mathematical, economic, social, and practical knowledge to design and build structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes that safely realize improvements for Technological developments required for  manufacturing industries to  and services and the lives of people.

The First Year B.Tech department, being an integral and basic part of the college, focuses on promoting the discovery and application of scientific knowledge in a manner that prepares the students to contribute effectively, intellectually and ethically as citizens of a dynamic scientific community.The foundation of Engineering education is laid through the knowledge of basic principles of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communication Skills, Basics of Computing, Basics of Electronics, Basics of civil, etc. Engineering is incomplete without application of science and Technology.The department is continuously striving to keep track of the latest Engineering and Technological developments with students through Technical seminar, industrial visits, etc. which is need of the students who have to face the global challenges in future.

Development of soft skills like effective communication is very important part of an individual personality. Enhancement of individual outer and inner self to bring about a positive change in their life, boosting confidence, learning fine etiquettes and manners, adopting new style and grace to the way one looks, talks and walks. This in-turn creates the personality which can match and outwin the competition and as well become well-cultured person with all the required skill sets which are required to become a smart global citizen who have to face the global challenges.Various activities organised like Artistic and cultural exercises and intercollegiate sports, Health courses like Yoga, Pranayama and Fitness, communication skills, Technical Report writing and GD-PI, Resume writing skills and Interview skills, Training for Empowerment of girls.
